Nagpur: A case of financial fraud has been registered at the Nandanvan Police Station against an accused who allegedly cheated a senior citizen under the pretext of installing a solar plant.
According to police sources, the complainant, Seema Ramdas Gajbhiye (70), a resident of New Diamond Nagar in Nandanvan, approached the accused, Darshan Ravindra Sirsode (33) from Wardha, for installing a solar power system at her residence.
The accused allegedly gained her trust by promising to install the solar plant and collected a total of ₹3,00,000 between May 1, 2025, and July 16, 2025. However, he failed to install the system and did not return the money, thereby committing fraud.
Based on the complaint and preliminary inquiry, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation is currently underway, led by Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Dalvi.
