Nagpur: In a swift action, Wadi Police arrested an externed criminal for violating official orders and allegedly preparing to commit a crime within city limits. The incident took place on April 8, 2026, around 7:10 PM during routine patrolling by the police team.
While patrolling near a bus stop on Amravati Road in front of Bharat Apartment in Wadi, police personnel noticed a suspicious individual loitering in the area. As officers approached him, the suspect attempted to flee, raising further suspicion. After a brief chase, the police successfully apprehended him.
Upon interrogation, the accused identified himself as Bablu alias Arjun Diwakar Wankhede (28), a resident of Ramabai Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Wadi, Nagpur. A background check revealed that he had been externed from Nagpur city and rural areas for a period of two years under an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 01), effective from November 12, 2024.
Despite the externment order, the accused was found present within the restricted jurisdiction without any official permission, allegedly with the intent to commit a crime. Based on this violation, Wadi Police registered a case under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act and placed the accused under arrest. Further investigation is currently underway.
