Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Wadi Police successfully uncovered five theft cases, including a high-profile temple robbery at Radha Mohan Temple in Lava Wadi, Nagpur.
The incident occurred between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM, when an unidentified accused broke the temple lock and chain, stealing approximately ₹75,000 in cash from the donation box.
A complaint was filed by Manisha Prem Narayan Jaiswal (43), secretary of the temple, leading to a case being registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
During the investigation, police detained Samyek Uttam Watole (19), a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Wadi. Upon interrogation, he confessed to committing the temple theft along with four minors.
Police recovered ₹10,120 in cash from his possession.
Further questioning revealed his involvement in:
- 2 theft cases under Bhandara and Jawaharnagar police jurisdictions
- 2 additional temple thefts and shop break-ins in Tumsar
This brings the total number of solved cases to five.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior officials and executed by a dedicated Wadi Police team. Further investigation is ongoing.
