Two Held With 9 Kg Ganja near Kolkata Railway Line in Pachpaoli, Nagpur

Nagpur: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur Crime Branch arrested two individuals and seized over 9 kilograms of ganja worth more than ₹1.37 lakh. The raid was conducted on July 9, 2025, between 6:40 pm and 9:20 pm at Bhimratna Nagar, Dobhi Motibagh slum area, located near the Kolkata Railway Line under the jurisdiction of Pachpaoli Police Station. The case has been registered under FIR No. 549/2025, invoking Sections 8(c), 20(b), 2(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act.


The arrested accused have been identified as Noor Mohammad Gafur Qureshi (39), a resident of Bhimratna Nagar, and Abhishek Suresh Dahiya (24), who currently resides at Apna Hotel, Kapil Nagar Chowk in Nagpur and hails from Bharjuna Kala, Patharaw Tola, Satna district in Madhya Pradesh. During the raid, police seized 9.138 kg of ganja valued at ₹1,37,070, cash amounting to ₹3,670, and an Itel mobile phone worth approximately ₹5,000. The total seizure amounts to ₹1,45,740.


One more accused, identified as Irshad alias Ichchu Peer Khan (30), a resident of Dobhi near Dammadar Dargah in the Pachpaoli area, is currently absconding, and police have launched a manhunt to trace him.


The raid was conducted based on a tip-off received from a confidential informant. Acting swiftly, the police team carried out a raid in the presence of panch witnesses and apprehended the accused with the contraband in their possession. The operation was led by PI Rahul Shire and API Shivaji Nanaware, along with a team comprising HC Samadhan Gite, Kishor Thakare, Prakash Mathankar, and Laxman; NPC Sheshrao Raut; PCs Ashwin Mange, Kunal Masram, Sameer Sheikh, and Kunal Bodakhe; and WPC Poonam Shende. Further investigations are underway.
