Nagpur: Five Including 4 Juveniles Nabbed While Planning Robbery in Jaripatka, One Escapes

Nagpur: In a swift operation, the Jaripatka Police arrested five individuals, including one adult and four juveniles, for allegedly preparing to commit a robbery near Bezanbagh Ground, close to Tata Palak Mandir Hall. The incident occurred between 7:30 am and 8:35 am on July 9, 2025, during routine patrolling.


Acting on a credible tip-off, the police team conducted a surprise encirclement and apprehended five suspects, while one managed to flee the scene. The arrested adult has been identified as Sameer Nishant Gaikwad (19), a resident of Christian Colony, Lumbini Nagar, Nagpur. The remaining four were found to be juveniles in conflict with the law.


The police recovered a cache of weapons and tools including a steel sword, iron rod, knife, chili powder, and a torch, collectively valued at ₹620. The accused were found preparing to commit a robbery with these dangerous weapons.


Based on a complaint filed by Police Constable Pankaj Thakur, an FIR was registered under BNS Section 399, along with Sections 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. One accused has been formally arrested, and further investigation is underway by PSI Killedar.
