Nagpur: A man previously externed from Nagpur city and rural areas was caught with a knife during police patrolling in Mankapur. The arrest took place around 1:55 am on July 10, 2025, under the flyover near the railway tracks in Taj Nagar.
During the patrol, officers noticed a suspicious individual who attempted to flee upon being questioned. He was caught and identified as Abdul Sadiq alias Kalya Abdul Nasir (20), residing near Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz Masjid in Taj Nagar, Mankapur. Upon frisking, a steel knife worth approximately ₹200 was found tucked inside his waistband.
Upon verifying police records, it was revealed that the accused had been externed for a year under Order No. 360/2025 dated January 16, 2025, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 2.
Despite the prohibitory order, Abdul Sadiq was found within city limits with a weapon, allegedly planning a crime. He was arrested under Sections 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act, and Sections 142 and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is being conducted by the Mankapur Police.
