Nagpur: Sadar police have registered a case against a 21-year-old biker for allegedly causing a serious road accident that left an auto-rickshaw driver and an 11-year-old schoolboy critically injured on Thursday morning.

According to the complaint filed by Roshan Prakash Chavre (42), a resident of Gorewada Vasti, Gittikhadan, he was ferrying schoolchildren in his auto (MH 31 FB 3301) around 10.30 am on September 26. While heading towards CP Club to drop off student Shlok Shiv Mun (11) of Panjara, Koradi, a speeding Royal Enfield Bullet without a registration number rammed into his vehicle in front of a coffee juice centre near Officer’s Club, Walker Road, under Sadar police limits.

The biker, identified as Krishna Rohit Madhurwar (21), resident of Dhantoli, was allegedly riding with a pillion and driving recklessly and negligently. The impact caused the auto to overturn, seriously injuring Chavre and the young passenger. Locals rushed both victims to Sengupta Hospital, where they remain under treatment. The accused fled the scene, abandoning his motorcycle.

Based on the driver’s statement, Sadar police have booked Madhurwar under sections 281, 125(A), 125(B) of the BNS, along with sections 184 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. PSI Vitole is investigating further to trace and apprehend the accused.

This accident comes close on the heels of the Mankapur school bus–van collision, in which a schoolgirl and the van driver were killed earlier this week. The back-to-back incidents have heightened concerns about reckless driving and road safety in Nagpur, prompting calls for stricter enforcement and public awareness campaigns.
