Nagpur: Addressing the growing concern of narcotic trafficking in the region, Dr. Dilip Patil Bhujbal, Special Inspector General of Police for the Nagpur Range, emphasized that halting the transport of drugs such as marijuana, gutka, and MD from other states is his top priority.
Speaking to media, Bhujbal outlined his strategic plan to tackle these issues since assuming his role. "Maharashtra shares borders with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, making these border areas crucial routes for trafficking marijuana, gutka, and MD. Our primary goal is to stop the transportation of these narcotics, with traffickers being our first target," Bhujbal stated.
Additionally, Bhujbal highlighted his commitment to combating sand smuggling in the Nagpur region. To address this, regular district-level meetings of the Sand Control Committee will be held, involving the Revenue, Mining, and Groundwater Survey departments. By enforcing stringent regulations at the local level, Bhujbal aims to curb sand smuggling effectively.
