Nagpur: A 16-year-old boy died due to accidental electrocution while drawing water from an overhead tank at his residence near Jamdar High School, Udhoji Galli, Mahal. The incident took place around 10:40 pm on Sunday, June 23 under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station.

According to police, the deceased, Ritvik Pravin Darodkar, was fetching water when he came in contact with an electric motor that was reportedly installed inside the tank. He lost consciousness on the spot and was immediately rushed to New Era Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

An accidental death report (ADR) has been registered at Kotwali Police Station based on a statement by his father, Pravin Prabhakarrao Darodkar (49). Kotwali Police are conducting further investigation.
