Sonegaon Police Arrest Externed Criminal for Violating Ban Order

Nagpur: In a late-night patrol operation, Sonegaon Police apprehended an externed criminal found moving suspiciously within the police station limits, in violation of a two-year externment order.


According to police, at around 10.50 pm on February 28, 2026, a detection team from Sonegaon Police Station was conducting crime surveillance near Rahul Nagar Buddha Vihar when they spotted a suspicious individual. On noticing the police, the man attempted to flee but was chased and detained.


During inquiry in the presence of panch witnesses, the accused identified himself as Sagar Sudhakar Narnaware (34), a resident of Rahul Nagar slum area in Sonegaon. Verification of his criminal record revealed that he had been externed from Nagpur city and rural limits for two years under Order No. 10/2024 dated November 12, 2024, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1.


Despite the externment order, the accused was found within city limits without prior permission, allegedly with the intention to commit an offence. A case has been registered against him under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act at Sonegaon Police Station, and he has been placed under arrest. Further investigation is underway.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior police officials of Zone 1 and the Sonegaon Division.
