Sakkardara Police Apprehend 19-Year-Old with Knife in Nagpur

Nagpur: Sakkardara Police on Monday apprehended a 19-year-old youth for carrying a deadly weapon and threatening pedestrians in the Mela Ground area behind Tajshahi Lawn.


Acting on a tip-off, a patrolling team intercepted a suspicious individual dressed in a black shirt who was reportedly creating panic among locals. The accused was identified as Adil Khan Imran Khan, a resident of Azad Colony, near Amma Dargah, Motha Tajbagh. Police recovered a steel knife worth approximately ₹400 from his possession.


Initial investigation suggests the accused was carrying the weapon with an intention to commit a serious crime, thereby violating prohibitory orders in effect. A case under Section 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered at Sakkardara Police Station, and the accused has been taken into custody.


The action was executed under the guidance of DCP Rashmita Rao, ACP Narendra Hivare, and PI Mukund Thakare, along with PSI Tekade and personnel Dnyaneshwar Bante, Dharmendra Nitanware, Balu Giri, and Govind Deshmukh.
