Nagpur: In a major customer-friendly move, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has announced the launch of a 24x7 toll-free helpline to address electricity supply interruptions and billing issues swiftly.
According to officials, consumers can now register complaints at any time by calling one of three toll-free numbers: 1912, 1800-233-3435, and 1800-212-3425. These helplines will allow customers to report not only power outages but also billing discrepancies, ensuring prompt action by MSEDCL.
MSEDCL stated that it consistently leverages modern technology to ensure uninterrupted power supply and accurate billing for millions of consumers across the state. However, power interruptions can sometimes occur due to road accidents, natural disasters, or man-made obstructions. Immediate and accurate complaint registration by customers enables MSEDCL to expedite restoration efforts.
Currently, many consumers prefer visiting offices or calling individual staff members rather than using online platforms, leading to delays. To streamline the complaint process and save time, MSEDCL has made these toll-free numbers readily available. The numbers are also printed on official electricity bills and listed on MSEDCL’s website.
To register a complaint, customers must provide their 12-digit consumer number, allowing MSEDCL to quickly locate the fault and forward the complaint to the relevant branch office.
Register Complaints via SMS and Missed Call:
In addition to toll-free numbers, MSEDCL offers complaint registration through SMS and missed calls. Consumers who have registered their mobile numbers with MSEDCL can give a missed call on 022-50897100. Alternatively, they can send an SMS typing “NOPOWER [consumer number]” to 9930399303. A confirmation message will be sent acknowledging the complaint.
Emphasis on Website and Mobile App Usage:
MSEDCL encourages consumers to make effective use of its mobile app, available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Through the app, consumers can manage multiple electricity connections and access several services from the comfort of their homes. Additionally, customer services are also available on the official website, www.mahadiscom.in, ensuring convenient and efficient resolution of consumer grievances.
MSEDCL has appealed to customers to avoid contacting officers or staff individually for personal complaints and instead use the provided digital and helpline services for quicker resolution.
