Nagpur: Sitabuldi Police have registered a fraud case against the director of a property agency for allegedly duping homebuyers and misusing funds meant for the sale of unsold MHADA flats.

The accused, identified as Bhupendra Chandrikapure, director of “Deals My Property,” was appointed as an authorised agency in 2022 to facilitate the sale of unsold MHADA units as per prescribed terms and conditions.

Between October 19, 2022 and July 5, 2025, Chandrikapure allegedly collected money from prospective beneficiaries despite having no authority to receive payments. Investigators said the accused promised to secure flats, home loans and electricity connections for buyers, collecting money from 44 individuals.

Instead of providing the promised flats or services, the accused is alleged to have diverted ₹1,39,87,370 for personal gain, causing financial loss to both MHADA and the beneficiaries.

Based on the complaint filed by a senior MHADA official, Sitabuldi Police have booked the accused under Sections 318(4) and 316(2) of the BNS. The matter remains under investigation.
