Nagpur: Pachpaoli Police arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly carrying a deadly weapon and creating panic in a public area by abusing passersby.
The incident took place on June 17, 2026, between 7 pm and 8:05 pm, when a Pachpaoli Police patrol team was conducting routine rounds in the area.
Police noticed a man standing on the road near Ambedkar Garden, Kolkata Railway Line, Vaishali Nagar, openly carrying a weapon and allegedly creating a disturbance while verbally abusing people passing through the area.
With the help of the police staff, the accused was detained and disarmed. During questioning in the presence of witnesses, he identified himself as Falansh Chetan Bhimte (21), a resident of Galli No. 4, Barse Nagar, Pachpaoli, Nagpur.
Police seized an iron sword worth ₹500 from his possession.
According to investigators, the accused was allegedly carrying the weapon with the intention of committing a cognisable offence and had violated prohibitory orders.
Based on a complaint filed by Police Constable Pawan Bhatkar, Pachpaoli Police Station registered a case under Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
