Nagpur: Nisar Tamboli, an IPS officer from the Maharashtra 2005 batch, has been appointed as the new Joint Commissioner of Police for Nagpur City in the late night transfers on Thursday. He replaces Aswati Dorje in the role.
Prior to this appointment, Tamboli served as Assistant Commissioner in the State Intelligence Department (SID), Mumbai.
In other significant transfers, Nilesh Tambe, who was recently appointed as Principal of the Police Training Center in Nagpur, has now been moved to the Criminal Investigation Department as Superintendent of Police. Previously, he served as the Additional SP of Nandurbar.
Noorul Hasan, former SP of Wardha and DCP Nagpur, will take over as SP Bhandara, succeeding Lohit Matani, who has been transferred to Mumbai.
