NEET 2026: Nagpur Collector Kumar Ashirwad Reviews Preparations; 12,512 Students to Appear Across District

Nagpur: Ahead of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled on June 21, Nagpur district administration has intensified preparations to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly and securely. District Collector Kumar Ashirwad reviewed arrangements for the examination and directed officials to ensure that students face no inconvenience on exam day.


According to the administration, a total of 12,512 students from Nagpur district will appear for the NEET examination this year.


The review meeting was held at the Planning Building (Niyojan Bhavan) and attended by City Coordinator and Principal Arvindsingh Thakur, Principal Firoz Khan, senior officials from CRPF and CISF, and examination centre heads.


During the meeting, Collector Kumar Ashirwad instructed all examination centre authorities and institutions hosting the exam to ensure adequate facilities for candidates. These include proper lighting inside examination halls, appropriate seating arrangements, generator backup, availability of drinking water, and comprehensive safety measures.


To maintain the integrity of the examination and prevent any untoward incidents, a strong security plan has been put in place. As per the arrangements, 14 examination centres will remain under the security cover of CRPF and police personnel, while 16 centres will be secured by CISF along with police deployment.


The district administration stated that all necessary measures are being implemented to conduct the NEET examination in a safe, organised, and student-friendly environment across Nagpur district.
