Dealers allege non-fulfillment of promises by Nayara Energy; demand immediate action
Nagpur: All India Nayara Dealers Association has announced a nationwide protest on January 16, 2025, demanding the revision of dealer margins, which has been pending for the past eight years. Nagpur will also observe agitation.
The association has accused Nayara Energy Ltd. of failing to fulfill its commitments despite assurances from top officials and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG).
On October 30, 2024, Petroleum Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, announced an upward revision in dealer margins to ensure better services for customers. Following the announcement, major oil companies such as IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL promptly implemented the revised margins. However, Nayara Energy has yet to take similar steps, despite repeated requests and assurances to its dealers.
Broken Promises by Nayara Energy:
According to the association, Nayara Energy officials had consistently assured dealers that any revision announced by the MOPNG would be implemented without delay. On December 12, 2024, representatives from the All India Nayara Dealers Association met with Nayara Energy’s CEO, Madhur Taneja, who reportedly assured them that the margins would be revised before January 5, 2025. However, as of January 15, 2025, no action has been taken, and Nayara officials have remained unresponsive, the association claims.
Nationwide Protest:
In response to this inaction, Nayara dealers across India will stage protests at all zonal and divisional offices of Nayara Energy. The association has urged the media to highlight their plight and bring attention to the company’s alleged failure to comply with MOPNG’s guidelines.
The dealers emphasize that the margin revision is crucial for ensuring essential services to customers and sustaining their operations. They have called upon Nayara Energy to address their demands promptly to avoid further escalation.
The nationwide protest is expected to impact operations at several Nayara Energy outlets, with dealers urging the company to resolve the issue amicably and in a timely manner.
