Nagpur's Son, IPS Nilesh Tambe, Takes Charge as CID Superintendent in Hometown

Nagpur: After bringing laurels to the Second Capital of the State by becoming an IPS officer, Nilesh Tambe has returned to the city as Superintendent of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Following a recent series of transfers, Tambe, who was earlier appointed as Principal of the Police Training Centre in Nagpur, has now been transferred to the CID as Superintendent of Police (SP). Previously, he served as Additional SP in Nandurbar.


Nilesh Tambe, an IPS officer of the 2018 batch, is a resident of Verma Layout in Ambazari. He completed his schooling at Saraswati Vidyalaya, Shankar Nagar Chowk. Later, he pursued UPSC and became an IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre.


In addition to Tambe, District Collector and former Mayo Hospital medico Dr. Vipin Itankar, and DCP Archit Chandak, are also from Nagpur and are currently posted in the city.


Tambe's return to Nagpur as CID Superintendent has been welcomed by both his peers and the local community. Known for his dedication and commitment to law enforcement, Tambe has garnered a reputation for handling complex cases with efficiency.


His leadership is expected to further strengthen the CID's efforts in combating crime in the region, particularly focusing on organized crime and cyber-related offenses. Locals are proud to see a homegrown talent making a significant impact on the city's safety and security.
