Nagpur: In a major step toward strengthening affordable healthcare, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced the development of a state-of-the-art diagnostic centre at Imamwada. The new facility, which will come up on the premises of the former Isolation Hospital, aims to provide essential diagnostic services to citizens at significantly reduced rates.
The upcoming centre will house MRI, CT Scan, PET Scan, X-Ray, pathology tests and multiple diagnostic services, all under one roof. According to officials, the rates will be at least 20% lower than CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) prices, offering substantial savings for the general public.
NMC has launched this ambitious project to ensure that Nagpur residents have access to affordable and high-quality medical services. The initiative is being executed under the leadership of Mayor Neeta Thakre and the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, both of whom have expressed commitment toward improving the city's healthcare ecosystem.
Authorities stated that the key goal of the project is to enable quick, accurate and
affordable medical diagnosis, allowing patients to begin timely treatment and improving overall healthcare outcomes. Once operational, the centre is expected to significantly boost Nagpur’s diagnostic infrastructure.
The diagnostic centre is being developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, ensuring modern technological standards, quality service delivery and efficient management. Officials emphasized that the project will play a crucial role in strengthening Nagpur’s public health system and will serve as a major relief for economically weaker sections of society.
With construction and planning already underway, the new diagnostic centre is expected to provide the city with a much-needed boost in accessible, affordable and high-quality healthcare services.
