Nagpur: A 34-year-old woman from Hudkeshwar has filed a complaint against a man who allegedly extorted money from her under false pretenses and later forced himself on her at a hotel in the Sakkardara police limits.
The accused, identified as Umesh Parihar (34), a resident of Narkhed, Nagpur, came in contact with the complainant through social media between March 8 and March 18. Gaining her trust, he falsely claimed his mother was unwell and took ₹1.4 lakh from her through cash and online transfers.
Later, the accused called the woman to a location within Hudkeshwar police limits, forcibly made her sit in a four-wheeler, and threatened to defame her. He then took her to a hotel in Sakkardara and allegedly raped her. When the complainant asked for her money back, the accused evaded repayment and again threatened to defame her.
Following her complaint, Sakkardara Police have registered an FIR under Sections 64 and 351(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Assistant Police Inspector Wakde is conducting further investigations.
