Nagpur: A 59-year-old security guard has alleged that he was abducted, illegally confined overnight, and threatened into relinquishing his property as part of an ongoing land dispute in Nagpur. Based on his complaint, Pratap Nagar Police have registered a case against four identified accused and four unidentified persons.

According to the FIR, the complainant, Ramesh Sadashiv Kumre (59), a resident of Gopal Nagar, stated that a dispute over his residential property is currently pending before a court. His brother, Janardan Sadashiv Kumre (55), is accused of selling the disputed house to another person for ₹51 lakh without obtaining the complainant’s consent. The complainant further alleged that another accused informed him that he would also receive an additional ₹5 lakh as part of the deal, which he questioned, insisting that the property could not have been sold without his signature.

The incident allegedly occurred on the night of July 7, when the complainant was walking to his duty. A two-wheeler rider allegedly hit him, after which Janardan, Balu Meshram and two others accused who were waiting nearby allegedly forced him into a black four-wheeler.

The complainant alleged that he was first taken from IT Park Road to a room on the fifth floor of a building near Baidyanath Chowk, New ST Stand, Cotton Market, which displayed a board reading “Janhit Party.” There, the accused allegedly threatened him to vacate the disputed plot.

He further alleged that he was then driven along Amravati Road to a farmhouse in a secluded forested area, where he was unlawfully confined overnight. On July 8 at around 6 pm, the accused allegedly brought him back to the Cotton Market area and again threatened him to execute an agreement transferring the house. He was later dropped back at his residence.

Based on the complaint, Pratap Nagar Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) relating to kidnapping, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, assault and other offences. Further investigation is underway.
