Nagpur: In connection with the ongoing “Winter Session 2024,” Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Single conducted an unexpected inspection of the security arrangements and meal provisions for officers and personnel deployed from outside districts here, on Wednesday, December 18.
The Top Cop visited key locations at Yashwant Stadium, where the protests were planned, and observed the management of security and potential challenges faced by marchers. Dr. Single engaged with the officers on duty to inquire about the meals provided. Despite no complaints from the personnel, the Commissioner was not fully satisfied with their responses and decided to personally join the officers—both male and female—in their meals, checking the quality and taste of the food.
Dr. Single also spoke with the officers responsible for the meal arrangements, as well as the caterers, to discuss the quality and cooking methods used. He emphasized, “Police personnel are handling significant responsibilities, and providing them with quality and satisfactory meals is our priority.”
During the visit, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Rahul Madne, along with Police Commissioners from outside Nagpur—Sagar Patil (Amravati city) and Dilip Bhagwat (Dy. Superintendent of Police, Buldhana), and Senior Police Inspector Anamika Mirzapure from Dhantoli Police Station—also shared the meal with the Commissioner.
The surprise inspection has led to improvements in the meal arrangements, with officers expressing satisfaction about receiving better quality food. Police Commissioner’s gesture of dining with his officers has sparked discussions within police circles, highlighting his simplicity and sensitivity.
