Nagpur: District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar and District Soldier Welfare Officer Anand Patharkar were honoured by Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan for their exceptional efforts in raising funds for the Armed Forces Flag Day 2023. The felicitation took place during a special ceremony where they were presented with mementos in recognition of their contribution on Saturday, December 7.
Under the guidance of Dr. Itankar, who also serves as the Chairman of the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund Committee, Nagpur district achieved an impressive collection of ₹3.09 crore, surpassing the target of ₹1.91 crore by 161.35%. This achievement was made possible with the support of various government offices and local organizations across the district.
Governor Radhakrishnan commended the dedication of the district administration in supporting the welfare of armed forces personnel and their families, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in fostering community involvement.
