Nagpur: To ensure peace and order during the upcoming festive season, Nagpur City Police have externed as many as 51 criminals from Zone 1 jurisdiction under Section 163(2) of the BNSS Act. The action has been taken by DCP Zone 1, Singa Reddy Rushikesh Reddy, who also holds the powers of Special Executive Magistrate.
The externment covers criminals involved in offences against the body, property-related crimes, and illicit liquor trade. The move comes in anticipation of major festivals such as Tanhapola, Marbat, Ganeshotsav, and Eid-e-Milad, which draw large public gatherings.
According to the order, these offenders pose a serious threat to public peace and law and order. Hence, they have been banned from entering Zone 1 limits for a period of 15 days.

Police officials said such preventive measures are necessary to maintain law and order during crowded festive events, ensuring that anti-social elements do not disrupt the city’s peace.
