Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 3 arrested a 21-year-old youth for vehicle theft in Wadi area and recovered a stolen Honda Activa scooter worth ₹40,000.
As per reports, complainant Jayashree Chandrashekhar Jambhulkar (49), resident of Gajanan Society, Dattawadi, Wadi, had parked and locked her Honda Activa (MH 31 ER 5157), valued at ₹20,000, outside her residence on July 15 between 6.15 pm and 6.40 pm. On returning, she found the vehicle missing. Based on her complaint, Wadi Police had registered a theft case.
During technical investigation, Crime Branch Unit 3 detained Ishu Ravi Sontakke (21), resident of Gawalipura, Sitabuldi. On sustained questioning, he confessed to the theft. Police recovered the stolen moped from his possession, valued at ₹40,000.
The accused has been placed under arrest and handed over to Wadi Police Station for further proceedings.
The action was carried out under the supervision of CP Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal, Jt. CP Navin Chand Reddy, Addl. CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil, led by PI Anil Taksande and his team.
