Nagpur Crime Branch Arrests Four For Robbing Senior Citizen of Her Mangalsutra inside Bus

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch’s Chain Snatching Squad of Nagpur City Police has successfully solved a mangalsutra and valuables theft case reported under the Gittikhadan Police Station limits.


Theft Inside City Bus Targeted Elderly Woman


The incident took place on February 14, 2026, between 3:25 PM and 3:45 PM, when 66-year-old complainant Manorama Sudhakarrao Adam was traveling in a city bus (MH-49 BZ-2503) from Bishop Cotton School bus stop to Mangalwari Chowk.

An unidentified accused stole a purse containing cash and gold ornaments worth ₹60,500 from her bag while she was traveling with her disabled husband and granddaughter.


A case was registered at Sadar Police Station Nagpur under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.


Four Accused Arrested, Gold Worth ₹1.4 Lakh Seized


During investigation, the Crime Branch team tracked down and arrested four accused from the Ajni area:

  • Manju Siddharth Hatagle (40)
  • Suhani Vishal Hatagle (22)
  • Surekha Viraj Londhe (23)
  • Sunil Sheshrao Katole (52)


The accused confessed to committing the crime in coordination. Police recovered 10 grams of gold valued at ₹1.4 lakh from their possession.


Operation Led by Senior Officials


The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior officials including Ravinder Kumar Singal and Navinchandra Reddy.

Further investigation is underway.
