Nagpur Crime Branch Arrests Auto Thief, Stolen Vehicle Worth ₹2.1 Lakh Recovered

Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, the Crime Branch Unit 05 of Nagpur Police arrested a youth involved in a vehicle theft case and recovered stolen property worth approximately ₹2.1 lakh.


The case dates back to the night between March 13 and March 14, 2026, when complainant Prabhu Gajanan Ninawe (29), a resident of Dhammadip Nagar in Yashodhara Nagar, had parked his Bajaj Maxima goods auto (MH-49-CF-6281) near Kanji House Chowk. Unknown accused allegedly stole the vehicle during the night.


Following a complaint registered at Yashodhara Nagar Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Crime Branch officials launched a parallel investigation. Acting on technical analysis and credible inputs, police detained accused Shiva alias Sahil Dashrath Parse (24), a resident of the same locality, along with a red Bajaj Maxima auto.


During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. Police seized the stolen auto and a Phoenix mobile phone, collectively valued at ₹2.1 lakh. The accused has been handed over to Yashodhara Nagar Police for further investigation.


The operation was carried out by PI Vinayak Golhe under the guidance of senior officials including Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP Abhijeet Patil.
