Nagpur City Police Clinches “Overall First Rank” in the 20th Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet - Wins 6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 4 Bronze Medals Along with 3 Prestigious Trophies

Nagpur: The 20th Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet, a state-level competition organized by the Maharashtra State Intelligence Training Academy and State Reserve Police Force Groups 1 and 2, was held at Ramtekdi, Pune, from September 15 to 19, 2025, in a highly spirited atmosphere.


The Nagpur City Police Commissionerate team comprised 27 participants — including 5 police officers, 22 women constables, and two trained sniffer dogs, Revan and Max.The primary objective of the Duty Meet is to enhance the professional skills of police personnel, provide a platform for showcasing their abilities, and strengthen their spirit of public service.A total of 16 Commissionerates, Ranges, and various non-executive branches from across Maharashtra participated in the event. Winning medals in this competition is considered a matter of great pride for every team.


The competition included six categories:

1. Scientific Aid to Investigation

2. Police Photography

3. Police Videography

4. Anti-Sabotage Check

5. Computer Awareness

6. Dog Squad


Under the inspiring leadership of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, the Nagpur City Police delivered an outstanding performance, securing 15 medals (6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 4 Bronze) to achieve the ‘Overall First Rank’ across Maharashtra.

In recognition of this remarkable achievement, the Nagpur City Police received the following three prestigious trophies:

• General Championship Trophy

• Scientific Aid to Investigation Trophy

• CID Centenary Trophy


This stellar performance has brought immense pride to Nagpur City Police, highlighting the department’s discipline, investigative scientific approach, and team efficiency.

Felicitation Ceremony: To honor this outstanding achievement, a special felicitation ceremony was organized at Police Bhavan, Nagpur, under the auspices of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal.

1. PI Prashant Thavre – 4 Medals:

• Forensic Science (Written Exam) – Gold

• Crime Investigation (Criminal Law, Court Judgment) – Silver

• Medico-Legal (Oral Exam) – Silver

• Fingerprint (Practical & Oral) – Bronze

2. PC Palash Waghmare – 2 Gold:

• Computer Awareness (Objective Test and Programming Ability)

3. WPC Pratiksha Nagpure – 2 Gold:

• Observation Test and Police Portrait Test

4. PC Krunal Uke – 1 Gold:

• Computer Awareness (Programming Ability)

5. WPSI Apoorva Borkar – 2 Silver:

• Fingerprint (Practical & Oral)

• Forensic Science (Written Test)

6. PC Pradeep Shirse – 1 Silver:

• Police Photography

7. PC Rasika Ghaivat – 1 Bronze:

• Police Portrait Test

8. WAPI Ashwini Kale – 2 Bronze:

• Lifting, Packaging & Labeling

• Forensic Science (Written Test)


Honoring the Trainers:


Special felicitation was also accorded to the trainers who provided dedicated coaching for two months prior to the competition:

1. Dr. Ashish Badhiye & Dr. Neeti Kapoor – Scientific Aid to Investigation

2. Dr. Anindya Mukherjee – Professor & HOD, Government Medical College, Nagpur (Medico-Legal)

3. Dr. Mandar Sane & Dr. Hansi Bansal – AIIMS Nagpur (Forensic Medicine)

4. Shrikant Ardhapurkar – Computer Awareness

5. API Pravin Moon – Fingerprint Expert, CID

6. Amol Sahare, Baliram Revatkar, and Deepak Bulbule – Photography & Videography Trainers


All participants, including those who did not win medals but contributed crucial points toward the General Championship, were warmly felicitated.During his address, CP Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal congratulated all participants, trainers, committee members, and officers, stating:

“Securing the Overall First Rank in Maharashtra is a matter of immense pride for Nagpur City Police. This success is built upon the dedication and sincere efforts of every participant, trainer, and committee member. Last time, we won 9 medals — this year, the tally has increased to 15, reflecting our growing competence. Let’s continue this enthusiasm and determination in the coming years and ensure Nagpur Police remains at the forefront in the state.”


This recognition once again underscores the discipline, teamwork, skill, and professionalism of Nagpur City Police across Maharashtra.


Committee and Management: A special committee was constituted for the management and coordination of the Nagpur City Police team for the Maharashtra State Police Duty Meet.The committee functioned under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police Shri Vasant Pardeshi, with members including DCP Shri Rahul Maknikar, ACP Dr. Abhijeet Patil, and PI Mrs. Lalita Todase (Administration) along with her team.Shri Bharat Karade (Crime Branch) served as the team’s coach. Their meticulous planning and tireless efforts were instrumental in the team’s success.


Guests and Program Details:-The event was graced by Joint CP Shri Naveenchandra Reddy, Additional CP Shri Vasant Pardeshi, Dr. Shivaji Rathod, Shri Rajendra Dabhade, along with all Deputy Commissioners of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police.Their presence made the event more inspiring and celebratory.


 The introduction and anchoring of the ceremony were done by API Amol Dond, Public Relations Officer, Commissioner of Police Office, Nagpur City, while PI Mrs. Lalita Todase delivered the vote of thanks.
