Nagpur: A 31-year-old man brutally killed his wife by striking her on the head with an iron spade following a heated argument over her alleged extramarital affair in the MIDC area on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the accused, Kishor Shankar Pradhan (31), and his wife Rinki Kishor Pradhan (23), were residents of Panchsheel Nagar, near a well in MIDC, Nagpur. Rinki allegedly had an illicit relationship with a man named Karan, which had caused frequent quarrels between the couple. Despite repeated warnings from her husband, Rinki continued her relationship.

On October 26, around 1:30 pm, Kishor noticed his wife talking to Karan over the phone. Enraged, he attacked her with an iron spade, striking her head and causing grievous injuries. Kishor then took the severely injured Rinki to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Following the complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Sanjay Bansod, the MIDC Police registered an offence under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused husband and arrested him. Further investigation is in progress.
