Nagpur: In a major heist, burglars struck the locked home of a retired Ordnance Factory employee in Koradi, escaping with gold, silver, and diamond ornaments worth over ₹31.43 lakh.

Complainant Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary (72) had secured his Flat No. V-4 in Shilp Society, Smruti Nagar, before leaving with family for Bareilly on September 8. On the morning of September 14, a neighbour alerted him to a break-in.

On inspection, Choudhary found that unknown intruders had, around 2.50 am the same day, broken the main door lock and ransacked the bedroom cupboard. They stole ₹20,000 in cash, 643 grams of gold jewellery, 2.2 kg of silver ornaments, and assorted diamond pieces—together valued at ₹31,43,760.

Koradi Police have registered a case under Sections 305, 331(4), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against unidentified suspects. A manhunt has been launched, and technical teams are examining CCTV footage and other leads.
