NAGPUR: A 39-year-old owner of a pharmaceutical firm has lodged a complaint alleging that his employee embezzled ₹7.8 lakh by diverting payments collected from customers into his own bank account and that of a friend. Koradi police registered a case against the accused on October 27.
According to the complaint, the complainant, Nishant Bhimrao Barethiya, runs Niba Healthcare, a pharmaceutical firm located at Plot No. 57/58 in Vidyanagar, Koradi.
The accused, Tejas Ganesh Bhoyar, a resident of Vidyanagar near Model School in Koradi, was employed at the firm. His responsibilities included depositing payments received from customers for medicines delivered to them into the firm’s bank account.
However, the accused allegedly diverted a total of ₹7.8 lakh into his own bank account and the account of his friend, identified as Gaurav Shinde, instead of depositing the amount into the firm’s account. He allegedly later collected the money from his friend for personal use, thereby causing financial losses to the complainant and breaching the trust placed in him.
Based on the complainant’s application and statement, Koradi police registered a case under Section 316(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to criminal breach of trust by an employee.
Police have initiated further investigation into the alleged financial fraud.
