Nagpur: Jaripatka Police arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly stalking and sending obscene messages to a 17-year-old girl.

The incident came to light after the complainant, a 47-year-old woman from Jaripatka, learnt that the accused had come to her house around 1:30 AM on August 1, 2025, forcibly tried to speak to her daughter, and argued with her.

On being questioned, the girl revealed that since March 2025, the accused had been following her, stopping her on the road, and threatening her to obtain her mobile number. He had also been sending obscene messages to her phone.

The accused, identified as Rakesh Sanjay Thul (resident of Imamwada), was booked under Sections 78, 79, 329(4), 333, 126(2), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act. He was arrested and is in police custody.

The case was registered by PSI Killedar. Further probe is on.
