Nagpur: A bomb threat note found in the lavatory of an IndiGo Airlines flight forced an emergency landing at Nagpur airport on Sunday morning. The handwritten note, with the word "Blast" scrawled on a piece of toilet paper and placed on the commode seat, caused alarm on the Jabalpur-Hyderabad flight, prompting immediate action.
The aircraft, which was carrying 69 passengers and four crew members, was swiftly diverted to Nagpur shortly after the note was discovered. According to airport sources, the air traffic control (ATC) tower alerted the station operational compliance check (SOCC) at Nagpur airport around 9 a.m., indicating that flight number 6E-48PQ was being redirected due to the bomb threat.
In response, the entire airport security team was mobilized, with emergency services, including fire tenders, ambulances, and a quick reaction team from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), being deployed. The flight landed safely at 9:20 a.m., and all passengers were evacuated. Security personnel are currently inspecting the passengers' handbags and conducting further investigations into the incident.
