Nagpur: An unidentified thief allegedly stole ₹8,000 from a glass cash box kept outside the Rani Sati Mata Temple in Nagpur’s Pardi area, taking advantage of the crowd at the temple.
According to the complaint filed by Navin Umesh Pande (42), a private employee and resident of Bharatwada, he was serving as a priest at the temple on October 5. At around 12.30 pm, cash amounting to ₹8,000 was kept in a glass box placed in front of the temple.
The accused allegedly took advantage of the crowd and Pandey’s diverted attention, broke the lid of the glass box and fled with the cash.
Based on Pande’s complaint, Pardi police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), against an unidentified person.
Police are investigating the incident and checking available leads to identify the accused.
