Nagpur: An unidentified thief allegedly broke into a highway bar and restaurant in the Khapri area of Nagpur and escaped with foreign liquor, cigarettes and cash worth a total of ₹1.65 lakh. The incident took place on the Nagpur-Wardha Road under the jurisdiction of Beltarodi police station.

According to the police report, the incident occurred between 12.30 am on August 20 and 8.30 am on August 21, 2026, at Highway Bar and Restaurant in Khapri.

The complainant, Dharmendra Bhimrao Umredkar (44), a bar manager residing in Shantinagar, had closed the establishment after his shift and locked the shutter before leaving for home.

During the intervening period, an unidentified accused allegedly broke the shutter lock, entered the premises and stole valuables from inside the bar.

The stolen property included foreign liquor worth ₹1,55,910, cigarettes valued at ₹4,900 and cash amounting to ₹4,230, taking the total value of the stolen goods to ₹1,65,040.

Following the complaint, Beltarodi police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are investigating the burglary and attempting to identify and trace the unidentified accused.
