Nagpur: A 14-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Indirapragati Nagar, under Koradi police station limits on Friday, August 21.

According to the police report, the girl allegedly hanged herself using a yellow nylon rope tied to an iron pipe on the roof of her cement-sheet house. The incident reportedly took place around 11.15 am.

Family members noticed her and rushed her to Mayo Hospital in Nagpur for treatment. However, doctors examined her and declared her dead.

The Koradi police have registered a case of accidental death based on the information provided by the girl’s father. Police are investigating the circumstances that may have led to the teenager taking the extreme step.

The reason behind the alleged suicide was not immediately known.
