Nagpur: A 44-year-old man has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing his 14-year-old daughter by repeatedly touching her inappropriately and assaulting her when she objected to his behaviour in Nagpur.

According to the complaint registered at Ambazari Police Station, the accused is the minor girl’s father. He allegedly subjected her to repeated unwanted and inappropriate physical contact against her wishes.

Police said the accused repeatedly touched the girl’s chest and stomach, causing her distress and making her feel uncomfortable. When she objected to his behaviour and refused to allow him to touch her, he allegedly assaulted her and hurled obscene abuses at her.

The minor subsequently approached the police and lodged a complaint against her father. Based on her statement, Ambazari Police registered an offence under the relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Sections 74, 75 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation is underway.
