Nagpur: An unidentified bus driver has been booked for causing the death of a 74-year-old man in a hit-and-run accident near Kasturchand Park on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, around 1 pm on August 3, 2025, the victim, Prakash Bhiku Pardhi, was walking towards Samvidhan Square to fetch water when a speeding bus, driven rashly and negligently, hit him. The driver fled the scene without offering help. The victim was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him dead.

Based on a complaint lodged by his daughter-in-law, Kalibai Ravi Pardhi (35), a resident of Kasturchand Park area, Sadar police registered a case under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the BNS, read with Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, against the unknown driver.
