Crime Branch Unit 5 Nabs Akola Youth with 2.04 Kg Ganja in Nagpur

Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch Unit 5 police laid a trap near Morris T-Point, Freedom Park to Institute of Science College road, Sitabuldi, on Sunday night and arrested a 22-year-old youth for possessing ganja.


The accused, identified as Sheikh Shoaib Sheikh Jameer (22), a resident of Dabki Road, Bhagwatwadi, Akola, was found carrying 2.04 kg of ganja valued at around ₹51,000 in a brown trolley suitcase. Police confirmed that he was in possession of the contraband with the intention of selling it for financial gain.


A case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(2)(B) of the NDPS Act at Sitabuldi Police Station. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil by Crime Branch Unit 5 officers and staff.
