Nagpur: A 20-year-old construction worker died after allegedly suffering an electric shock while working at an under-construction building under Hudkeshwar Police Station limits in Nagpur on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Naveen Rajkumar Maneshwar, a resident of Suyog Nagar, Gawande Layout, Ajni, Nagpur. According to police, the incident occurred around 3:15 pm on May 20, 2026, at a four-storey under-construction building located at Plot No. 154, Ladikar Layout, Manewada Road.

Police said Naveen was drilling holes into a wall using an electric drilling machine when he reportedly came into contact with live electric current and collapsed unconscious on the spot. Co-workers immediately rushed him to Medical Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead.

Following the incident, Hudkeshwar Police registered an accidental death case based on medical intimation and have started further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
