Nagpur: A 28-year-old man tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while cutting branches from a peepal tree near a high-tension power line in the Sadikabad Colony of Manakapur.
The deceased, Ajay Ram Thakre, was a resident of Ganganagar slum and operated a Chinese food stall in the area. On the morning of May 31, at around 9:45 am, he climbed the tree adjacent to his stall to trim branches. During the process, he came into contact with a high-tension electric wire and was knocked unconscious due to the electric shock.
Thakre was rushed to the Trauma Centre at Government Medical Hospital. Despite receiving treatment for two days, he succumbed to his injuries on the night of June 2.
Manakapur Police have registered a case of accidental death based on the medical officer’s report.
