Nagpur: Swift action by Crime Branch Unit 3 led to the arrest of three individuals involved in an attempt to murder case near Nanga Putla Chowk under Tehsil Police Station limits on Monday night. The arrests were made within just two hours of the incident, thanks to the timely intervention and coordination among crime branch officials.

According to the police, complainant Yashwant Raju Nandanwar (25), a resident of Naik Talav near Bangladesh area in Nagpur, was previously threatened by one of the accused — identified as Prem alias Khandya Kumbhare (20), a resident near Mahadev Mandir, Pachpaoli — during a visit to the temple with his maternal uncle Rakesh Ganesh Hedau.

On Monday, June 9, around 9 pm, Nandanwar had gone out for panipuri with a friend near a garment shop beside Alishan Clothing in Tehsil area when three accused — Prem Kumbhare, Jay Dilip Gandhi (19), and Saksham Kshirsagar Tambe (20), all from the Pachpaoli locality — arrived on a bike and confronted him. They allegedly abused him, issued threats, and attacked him with a knife and an iron rod, causing severe injuries. Nandanwar narrowly escaped the knife attack but suffered serious injuries to his head and legs.

Following a complaint, Tehsil Police registered an offence under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Crime Branch Unit 3 officers, upon receiving information, launched an immediate search and apprehended all three accused from the Pachpaoli area. The suspects were handed over to Tehsil Police for further investigation.
