Nagpur: Tragedy struck on Thursday afternoon when an Air India flight en route to London from Ahmedabad reportedly crashed near the Ahmedabad airport, with at least 200 people feared dead. Official confirmation from authorities is still awaited at the time of filing this report.

Among the 232 passengers and 10 crew members on board, several members of Nagpur’s Kamdar family were reportedly travelling on the ill-fated flight. The aircraft, which took off from Ahmedabad at 1:17 pm, was carrying 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian citizen.

Following reports of the tragic incident, relatives of the Kamdar family from Nagpur are said to have rushed to Ahmedabad. The exact number of family members on board is yet to be confirmed.

Authorities are continuing rescue and recovery operations at the crash site, and further details regarding the cause of the crash and the list of passengers are expected to be released soon.
