Nagpur: In a decisive action under Operation Shakti, the Nagpur Police sealed a premises allegedly used for running a prostitution den in Ganga Jamuna area. The operation was supervised by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahak Swami, while the action was executed by PI Sainath Ramod and his team from Lakadganj Police Station.
According to officials, an offence under Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 was registered earlier (Crime No. 394/2024) at Lakadganj Police Station. The building, jointly owned by Nanda Mahadevrao Patil, Vijay Mahadevrao Patil, Vilas Mahadevrao Patil, and Vinod Mahadevrao Patil — all residents of Ganga Jamuna locality, Ward No. 37 — was identified as being misused for immoral activities.
Acting upon the order issued by the Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City, under Section 18(1)(a)(b) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, the ground floor of the said building — comprising 11 rooms — was officially sealed for a period of one year. The action was carried out on October 17, 2025, in the presence of two independent witnesses. The outer iron gate was also locked and sealed with an official wax stamp.
The operation was executed under the guidance of DCP Rahul Madane (Zone 3) and ACP Shivprasad Parwe (Lakadganj Division). The team included PI Sainath Ramod, HC Ramdas Narekar, PC Ishwardas Mohekar, and WPC Sangita Lande.
