Nagpur: Panic gripped the Fetri area under Kalmeshwar police station limits on Friday after the body of a young woman was found inside an OYO hotel room. Police suspect that the woman was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, who later fled the hotel by jumping from the first floor.

According to police sources, the couple had checked into Rahul Service Apartment–1, an OYO property, on Thursday. Soon after checking in, the duo reportedly got into a heated argument, prompting hotel staff to intervene.

Police said the dispute escalated to such an extent that the hotel management had to counsel the couple. The accused reportedly assured the staff that there would be no further disturbance to other guests, following which the matter was temporarily resolved.

However, during the night, the accused allegedly killed the woman inside the hotel room and escaped by jumping from the first floor of the building.

The incident came to light on Friday when the couple failed to respond to repeated checkout calls from hotel staff. When there was no response despite knocking, the staff entered the room and found the woman lying in a pool of blood.

The hotel management immediately informed the Kalmeshwar Police, who rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The body has been sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination.

Police have launched a manhunt to trace the absconding accused, and further investigation in the case is underway.
