Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough under the anti-narcotics drive “Operation Thunder,” the Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police arrested a woman accused of supplying ganja and uncovered a larger drug distribution network in the city.

On March 28, 2026, between 10.15 pm and 11.45 pm, Unit 5 officers were on night patrol within the jurisdiction of Kalamna Police Station when they intercepted a suspect sitting on a blue Activa scooter near Mohanlal Vajpayee Nagar, close to a plastic factory. The accused, identified as Tejpratap Nekpratap Shahu (30), a resident of Kalamna, was detained on suspicion.

The police also seized the two-wheeler (MH-49 BP-1650) and a Redmi mobile phone, taking the total value of seized property to Rs 84,025.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had procured the contraband from Saloni Ranveersingh Chaudhary (20), a resident of Prem Nagar, Shantinagar. Based on this disclosure, a case was registered at Kalamna Police Station under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 20(b)(ii), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
