Nagpur: In a heartwarming gesture, members of the Wildlife Welfare Society gifted a bicycle to 8-year-old Nayana Nishad, a snakebite survivor from Khaparkheda in Nagpur district.

According to reports, Nayana was bitten by a snake around 12 noon while playing near her house. She was given first aid locally and later shifted to Mayo Hospital, Nagpur, where she was admitted with the help of the Wildlife Welfare Society. After receiving timely treatment, she was discharged three days later.

During a follow-up visit, the organization learned that Nayana had lost her father a few years ago and that her mother has been single-handedly taking care of the family under extremely difficult financial conditions. Moved by their situation, the Wildlife Welfare Society decided to gift Nayana a new bicycle to bring her some happiness and support her in daily activities.

The society has been working selflessly for years across Nagpur district, raising awareness and providing timely help to snakebite victims. Despite operating without any financial assistance, the organization has guided and helped hundreds of snakebite patients receive medical treatment and save their lives.

The bicycle was handed over to Nayana by District CEO Vinayak Mahamuni, in the presence of District Health Officer Dr. Rajkumar Gehlot, and District Information Officer Mahendra V. Waghmare. Society members Pankaj Badule, Gaurang Waikar, Nitish Bhandakkar, Abhishek Sawane, Roshan Bhadange, Lucky Khalode, and Aditya Shastrakar were also present during the occasion.
