Nagpur: Wadi police arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old minor over several months, leading to her pregnancy.

According to police sources, between August 1, 2024, and January 27, 2025, the accused, Harshal Sanjay Tawde, a resident of Athwa Mile, Wadi, developed a relationship with the minor victim.

Taking advantage of her age, he allegedly forced her into a physical relationship at his residence. When the victim later experienced health issues, a medical examination confirmed her pregnancy.

Following her complaint, Wadi police registered a case under Section 64(D) of the BNS, along with Sections 4, 6, and 8 of the POCSO Act.

The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
