Nagpur: An unidentified man was brutally assaulted and killed near Ram Jhula in the Tehsil police station area, with police registering a murder case against an unknown assailant.
According to police, the incident occurred before 11 am on January 21 near a metal staircase below Ram Jhula, close to Star Garage in Tehsil area. An unknown person allegedly attacked the victim with cement blocks, striking him on the head and face with the intention to kill, leaving him critically injured and unconscious in a pool of blood.
The injured man was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment. The deceased is estimated to be between 30 and 35 years of age, and his identity is yet to be established.
Police described the deceased as dark-complexioned, medium build, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with black hair and grown beard. He was wearing a red T-shirt, green jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes. Tattoos reading “RS” on his right hand and “Ramesh” on the right side of his neck were found.
Based on a complaint lodged by Umar Khan Mubarak Ali Khan (36), a resident of Mominpura, Tehsil, a case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unknown accused. Police have appealed to relatives or anyone identifying the deceased to contact Tehsil police station. Further investigation is ongoing.
