Nagpur: A horrific railway accident was reported under the jurisdiction of Sonegaon Police Station late on Friday night, where two unidentified men were found brutally crushed to death on the railway tracks near Ujwal Nagar in Nagpur.
According to police, complainant Jagdish Shivpal Kamdi (40), a resident of Parvati Nagar near Jeevan School in Ajni, is employed as a trackman with the railway department and was on duty between Wardha and Nagpur railway lines under Ajni Office Unit No. 12.
At around 9.35 pm on May 9, Kamdi reportedly received information over the phone that two unidentified men had met with an accident on the railway down line between Pole No. 830-2BN and Pole No. 829-28N.
Following the alert, Kamdi rushed to the spot near Ujwal Nagar within the limits of Sonegaon Police Station and inspected the railway tracks between Pole No. 830-2BN and Pole No. 829-24N to 829-28N.
During the inspection, he found the mutilated body of an unidentified man, aged around 25 to 30 years, lying in a pool of blood with severed limbs, torso and head. Nearby, another unidentified man of similar age was found dead in a naked condition with severe injuries and dismembered body parts.
Police were immediately informed and rushed to the scene. Both bodies were later sent to AIIMS Nagpur at MIHAN for post-mortem and further legal procedures.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.
Based on the information provided by the complainant, Assistant Police Inspector Sheetal Chamole of Sonegaon Police Station has registered a case of accidental death. Further investigation is underway.
